NEATC Judges List Criteria

A1 LIST

For persons who have previously been approved by The Kennel Club to award CC's in the breed and have completed their first appointment. To have the support of The North of England Airedale Terrier Club.

A2 LIST

For persons who fulfil all the requirements for the A3 list and who have been assessed in accordance with Kennel Club requirements and accepted by the Kennel Club for inclusion on an A2 list and have the support of The North of England Airedale Terrier Club.

A3 LIST

In respect of a specialist in the breed:
Must have completed the following:
  1. Judged at least two Airedale Terrier Breed Club Shows (confined to the breed).
  2. Completed at least seven years judging experience within the breed.
  3. Judged at least forty-five classes restricted to the breed.
  4. Judged at least 70 Airedale Terriers (absentees not to be included in the total).
  5. To have bred and/or owned a minimum of three dogs when they obtained their first entry in the Kennel Club Stud Book. (Save in exceptional circumstances).
  6. Demonstrated a consistent and active interest in the showing and welfare of the breed for a period of at least ten years (including the seven years judging experience required under (b) above.
  7. To have stewarded at twelve shows (the names and dates of shows to be listed on the questionnaire form).
  8. Must state that they are prepared to write show critiques as customarily required by the Dog Press.
  9. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer, and passed the relevant examination on Kennel Club Regulations and Judging Procedures.
  10. To have attended a seminar given by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer on Conformation and Movement.
  11. To have attended a Points of The Dog Hands-on Assessment conducted by a Kennel Club Accredited Trainer and passed the assessment.
  12. To have attended at least one breed specific judging seminar run in accordance with the relevant Kennel Club Code of Best Practice and passed an examination and/or assessment where applicable
In respect of a non-specialist in the breed:
Must have completed the following:
  1. To have judged at least 70 Airedales.
  2. Awarded Challenge Certificates in at least one other breed.
  3. Judged at least forty-five classes restricted to the breed.
  4. Ideally to have judged a Breed Club Open Show.

Criteria for B LIST Judges

Must have completed the following:
  1. To have judged a minimum of 14 Airedales
  2. To have judged at least another 20 terriers
  3. To have attended a Breed Specific Seminar & Hands on Assessment
